Job summary

First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI) invites applications for a full-time, one-year contract as Manager, Indigenous Centre for Teaching and Learning. Remote position with leadership over teaching excellence, Indigenous pedagogy, and continuous quality improvement.

You will foster Communities of Practice among faculty, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers, guiding curriculum development and faculty development initiatives to advance culturally grounded learning at FNTI.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Indigenous Studies, Adult Education or related field.
• Combination of education, Indigenous knowledge, lived experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and educational leadership for the Indigenous Centre for Teaching and Learning.
• Collaborate with leadership to set priorities aligned with institutional plans.
• Lead initiatives promoting excellence in Indigenous teaching, learning and curriculum development.
• Develop communities of practice among faculty, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers.
• Design and evaluate faculty development, onboarding, mentoring and center programming.
• Support land-based, experiential and culturally responsive learning opportunities.
• Strengthen technology-enabled teaching and learning and alignment with QA processes.
• Contribute to program review, curriculum renewal and continuous improvement.
• Engage with First Nations communities and external partners in educational partnerships.
