Job summary

City of Mississauga is seeking a Leader to oversee construction projects from design through turnover. You will plan schedules, manage budgets, and liaise with clients and authorities to ensure smooth execution.

The role requires a P.Eng. in Ontario with mechanical/electrical expertise, a structural degree, and at least 10 years of progressive building-design experience. Strong contract administration and drawing interpretation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Energy Manager designation is eligible.
• P.Eng. with mechanical and electrical skills (Ontario) required.
• Structural degree specializing in mechanical and/or electrical design.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in building design and construction.
• Strong background in preparing and administering consulting and construction agreements.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications; strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer design and construction contracts.
• Develop project implementation schedules and liaison with clients and jurisdiction authorities.
• Develop and prepare construction budgets and manage project financials.
• Review drawings and specifications; develop construction contracts; supervise construction.
• Provide direction to consultants across disciplines.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within approved budget and specs.
