Job summary

Vylor, Inc. is seeking a senior scientist to lead a hybrid wheat breeding research program focused on hard red spring inbreds and hybrids. You will identify needs, conduct hands-on breeding and field activities, and communicate results across the Research Center to drive development objectives.

The role emphasizes data analytics, quantitative genetics, and collaborative leadership within a fast-paced team environment. Field work and travel to project sites are expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in plant breeding or plant genetics with emphasis in genetics and data analytics preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge and applied research experience in plant genetics or plant breeding.
• Experience with quantitative/population genetics, meta-analysis, and genome-wide prediction methods.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to share results across the organization.
• Experience with field research processes and phenotypic data analyses is essential.
• Ability to plan and coordinate experiments across projects; strong organizational skills.

• Plans and conducts comprehensive hybrid wheat breeding research programs.
• Lead a hybrid wheat breeding research program delivering superior hybrids.
• Develop and deploy selection strategies for multi-trait selection.
