Job summary

Capital One Canada is seeking a Vertical Risk Manager to join the Canada Risk Office. You will partner with senior business teams to identify and mitigate risks, advise on risk governance, and support assessments while aligning with risk appetite. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, audit or management consulting.
• Solid understanding of risk management and governance principles (three lines of defense, risk framework).
• Ability to communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to build positive relationships across the organization.
• Ability to distill complex information into a clear narrative.
• Ability to work autonomously and provide clear recommendations.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to generate insights.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Support Canada Business by identifying and managing risks in activities, products, and processes.
• Advise business partners with risk insights and leadership.
• Identify emerging risks and trends to support the business agenda.
• Engage in risk assessments and work with stakeholders to mitigate identified risks.
• Collaborate with ERM, ORM, Compliance/AML, Audit and Legal to develop solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of Capital One Risk Standards and data systems accuracy.
• Connect strategic priorities with risk management to drive meaningful impact.
• Empower leaders with risk understanding to inform priorities and embed risk culture.
• Lead and prioritize work to consistently deliver results.
