Voyago, a Transdev Ontario subsidiary, is seeking a Lead Driver Trainer based in Kingston to support operations in the Kingston area. The role focuses on shaping the next generation of professional drivers while upholding safety-first culture.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7:30am–4:30pm) with an hourly rate of $25.00, reflecting the company’s commitment to training and service excellence in mobility services.

Qualifications

• Valid B or E Class license (minimum 3 years)
• Clean driver abstract
• Criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
• Proven track record of excellent customer service
• Knowledge of Durham Region and surrounding areas
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
• Understanding of vehicle-for-hire industry regulations
• Signing authority
• Work permit with enough remaining validity (if applicable)

We’re currently recruiting a Full-Time Driver Trainer to support our growing Kingston Schools Operations. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in shaping the next generation of professional drivers while ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional service and uphold our safety-first culture.

Hourly Rate: $25.00

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

Primary Responsibilities

The Driver Trainer is responsible for training and teaching employees how to drive all Company owned vehicles in a safe and professional manner. The role also includes providing a high degree of customer service in a fast-paced work environment.

• Conduct Driver Assessments to evaluate skill, safety, and readiness.
• Deliver Voyago Division Training Programs in accordance with company standards and policies.
• Facilitate License Upgrading programs, specifically for B Class licensing.
• Lead external instructional training sessions as required.
• Support the Transit Supervisor with additional duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

The ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Valid B or E Class License held for a minimum of 3 years required
• Clean Driver Abstract with no demerit points required
• Clean Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector Screening required
• Proven track record of excellent customer service
• Strong knowledge of Durham Region and surrounding areas
• Effective organizational and communication skills
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as required
• Understanding of the vehicle-for-hire industry and relevant regulations
• Familiarity with wheelchair tie-down systems (Q'Straint and similar)
• Possess a signing authority
• Candidates applying with a current valid work permit and requiring a licence upgrade, must have at least twelve months of remaining validity on the work permit at the time of application
