Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years in theatrical costume design; costume shop management experience preferred.
Strong portfolio demonstrating costume design and construction work.
Proficiency in sewing, draping, pattern-making and alterations; bachelor’s or master’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and build costumes for Calvin Theatre Company productions with director collaboration.
Develop renderings, fabric swatches, and fittings for approval by the team.
Manage costume budgets, sourcing fabrics and materials within budget.
Coordinate fittings, alterations, and costume changes for performances.
Oversee costume shop operations, inventory, and safety protocols.
Supervise student staff and volunteers in the shop environment.
Oversee costume production from pattern making to garment construction and maintenance.
Coordinate costume rentals when possible, maintaining quality standards.
