RBC is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead technical design and development across multi-platform systems. You will design test plans, develop automated suites, and manage defects while collaborating with cross-functional teams in Canada.

Qualifications

• Experience with QE processes, SDLC, and defect management.
• Hands-on testing in Cloud/Unix/Linux, big data/Hadoop, data warehouse environments.
• Strong problem solving, design and analytical skills for testing.
• Hands-on coding in Python or Java.
• SQL scripting proficiency.
• ETL testing experience.
• CI/CD automation with GitHub Actions or similar.
• Experience on Agile projects.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Degree in Computer Engineering/CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of application solutions.

• Track issues end-to-end with stakeholders as required.

Leads in the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Applies extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.

What will you do?

• Coordinating coding, testing, implementation and documentation of application solutions.
• Lead and hands on: Create test plans, test cases and test scripts based on complex requirement documents and business User Stories
• Lead and hands on: Develop and maintain automated test suites
• Lead and hands on: Execute automated test cases, document test results and raise defects whenever necessary.
• Be responsible for component or end-to-end tracking of issues, as required
• Work with JIRA, Confluence, qTest for test case management, defect management, test reporting and other functions
• Participate in defect triage and Scrum meetings
• Test new technologies and system functionality to ensure business acceptance, user acceptance and system integration
• Effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders and business partners from initiation to close by using strong communication, rapport building and other stakeholder management techniques
• Continually enhance your own skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems.
• Use AI to improve QE/DEV efficiently.
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain production-grade Python applications for batch data processing, APIs, and web applications.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions, automating build, test, and deployment workflows

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Experience in QE Processes/Testing Methodologies, Testing Life Cycle, SDLC and Defect Management processes for application testing, development and support; hands on experience on qTest, JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience on QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (Cloud, Unix/Linux, big data/ Hadoop, data warehouse).
• Strong problem solving, design, and analytical skills and out of the box thinking coming up with creative solutions on testing approach in critical timelines.
• Good hands-on experience in coding (e.g. Python, Java.).
• Excellent on SQL script writing.
• Good experience on ETL testing.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions preferred) and Git-based workflows.
• Experience on Agile projects.
• Excellent communication skills and effective negotiation skills.
• Computer Engineering, Computer Science degree/diploma or equivalent experience

Nice-to-have

• Experience in a variety of test automation frameworks/tools (e.g., SoapUI/ReadyAPI, Postman, Selenium, JMeter).
• QA related certification. E.g. ISTQB, Agile testing etc.
• Copilot.
• Experience on Machine Learning projects.
• Experience deploying, monitoring, and debugging applications in the cloud (e.g., AWS EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS)
