Job summary
Iconic Power Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Substation Commissioning Technologist to lead high voltage commissioning projects, inspecting, testing and commissioning equipment such as transformers, breakers, relays, switchgear and SCADA systems with a strong emphasis on safety and quality delivery.
You will mentor technicians, develop outage plans, review design packages, and coordinate with project teams to ensure on-schedule turnover.
Qualifications
- Diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in power systems commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting, preferably in high voltage substation environments.
- Knowledge of power systems theory, substation components, operation, and protection systems.
- Experience in brownfield substations is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Lead substation commissioning activities and provide direct supervision to Junior and Intermediate substation commissioning technologists.
- Conduct functional tests and measurements on equipment to verify performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues during commissioning.
- Coordinate with Supervisors, Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors, and clients throughout the commissioning process.
- Follow safety rules and regulations including PTW/LOTO/GOI procedures.
