Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Project Lead Engineer to drive substation automation projects, lead technical design, and coordinate across design, production, and commissioning stages. You will configure SCADA, protect relay systems, and work with customers to deliver high‑quality, compliant solutions.

The role requires deep knowledge of SCADA, protection systems, and communication protocols, plus hands-on testing with DOBLE and OMICRON equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in substation automation projects.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA, protection systems, and communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, GOOSE).
• Hands-on experience with electrical testing using DOBLE and OMICRON equipment.
• Familiarity with utility substation operations and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and engineering deliverables for substation automation projects.

• Perform electrical testing using advanced tools like DOBLE and OMICRON.

• Support project managers with technical input for proposals and risk assessments.
