Job summary

Valard Construction, a leading Canadian utility contractor, seeks a Construction Manager for our Substations group in Calgary or Edmonton, AB. You will oversee on-site work for high‑voltage substations, transmission, and BESS projects, coordinating with Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

Requirements include 10+ years of leadership in construction, a Journeyman PSE or Electrician designation, a valid driver's license, and experience managing up to 50

Qualifications

• Journeyman PSE or Electrician designation.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction.
• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and control on-site work for high voltage substation, transmission, and BESS projects.
• Act as main contact between Site Supervisors, subcontractors and the Client.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and permit requirements.
• Coordinate FAT and SAT commissioning activities with engineering and client representatives.
• Manage change orders and RFIs with cost and schedule impacts.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and lead investigations to closure.
