Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Lead Installer to join the solar installation crew. The role involves leading the team through safe, efficient installations, coordinating module layout and mounting, and ensuring inventory readiness for each job.

You will train and support crew members while upholding safety standards. Ideal candidates have solar installation or related construction experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Solar installation or related construction experience preferred.
  • Adheres to safety policies and can identify hazards.
  • Strong communication and rapport-building with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and performance metrics.
  • Willingness to participate in cross-training across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Review inventory at loading dock to stock crew truck.
  • Layout and assemble solar modules and mounts for installation.
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structures.
  • Assemble racking, modules and support structures as per project plan.
  • Ensure a clean and orderly job site.
  • Perform project clean up including client site and installation vehicle.
  • Lead crew through safe, effective and efficient installations.
  • Provide leadership, technical expertise and support to fellow crew members.
  • When assigned assist with solar battery installations.
  • May serve as acting Foreperson in the Forepersons' absence.
