Fitch Ratings, Inc. seeks a Lead Software Engineer to guide a global Ratings Technology team in Toronto, combining hands-on engineering leadership with a passion for AI-enabled transformation.

You will collaborate with product, analytics, and technology teams to modernize workflows, shape technical architecture, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions that improve analyst decision support and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise applications with Java, Springboot and REACT.
• Proven track record designing maintainable, scalable systems and making architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision and accelerate AI-enabled transformation in full-stack applications.
• Lead through influence and mentorship, partnering with product managers and analysts.
• Champion responsible AI adoption, drive proofs of concept, and turn ideas into scalable practices.
• Ensure engineering excellence with CI/CD, architecture reviews, and performance improvements.
• Shape team direction and drive strategic initiatives across multiple teams.
• Ensure reliability and navigate complexity in fast-paced Agile environments.
