Job summary

Lead Scheduler

The Lead Scheduler leads the planning and scheduling activities to facilitate the timely and cost‑effective completion of the construction project, including developing the master schedule, monitoring, and providing updates to ensure that the project is optimally executed and meets the program timing requirements.

How will you contribute to the team?
  • Create comprehensive timelines for construction projects, ensuring all tasks are accounted for.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure all project activities align with the schedule.
  • Track the progress of ongoing projects, identify potential delays, and work with the project team to implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Determine the resources needed for each task and ensure they are available when required.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact the project schedule.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, schedule adherence, and any issues that arise.
  • Use scheduling software and tools to develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Lead, coach, develop and motivate direct reports. Ensure that performance feedback is provided in a timely manner.
  • Manage team morale ensuring that the project team is working cohesively and address issues in a timely manner.
Education and Experience
  • Post Secondary Education in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction scheduling for Heavy Civil projects including Infrastructure and Rail.
  • Strong ability to analyze data and forecast project timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate scheduling.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating construction projects.
  • Understanding of construction processes and scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Prior experience with coaching and developing staff.
