Placements24 is seeking a Lead Resource Geologist for a fully remote role within a growing mining company. You will lead 3D geological modeling, resource estimation, and data management to uphold JORC/NI 43-101 standards.

You will mentor junior geologists and drive exploration strategy from anywhere in the world. You bring a Master's in Geology with 10+ years of experience, strong leadership, and expertise in Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Micromine, and Datamine.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Economic Geology, or related Earth Science.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in resource geology.
• Proven expertise in 3D geological modeling and geostatistical analysis.
• P.Geo. or equivalent certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the generation and refinement of geological models for various mineral deposit types.
• Oversee and conduct resource estimations, ensuring compliance with international standards (JORC, NI 43-101).
• Develop and implement geological data management systems and QA/QC protocols.
• Plan and supervise geological drilling programs and data collection.
• Collaborate with mine planning, geotechnical, and metallurgical teams to integrate resource information.
• Utilize advanced geological modeling and geostatistical software (Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Micromine, Datamine).
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports, memorandums, and presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related Earth Science field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in resource geology, with a strong emphasis on resource estimation and modeling.
• Proven expertise in 3D geological modeling software and geostatistical analysis.
• Thorough understanding of international reporting codes (JORC, NI 43-101) and their application.
• Experience in exploration geology and target generation is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Superior communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
