Job summary

Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley (AECFV) in Langley, BC is seeking a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician. You will mentor and support RVTs in one of Western Canada’s largest standalone emergency hospitals, delivering high-quality patient care in a busy environment.

The role requires RVT with leadership experience and strong emergency/critical care skills, plus excellent communication. The position offers full-time hours, a rotating schedule, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • RVT required.
  • Leadership/mentorship experience preferred.
  • Strong emergency/critical care or specialty medicine experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude with ability to motivate and support team.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for patient care and continuous learning.
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency hospital environment.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to improve workflows, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
  • Support team members during complex, high-stress cases.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and development initiatives for Technicians.
  • Contribute to scheduling support and team performance initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical role model by demonstrating advanced technical skills and patient advocacy.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and clients for seamless patient care.

Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

$40–47/hr CAD based on experience + $4 shift differential (evening & overnight) - Sign-on bonus up to $5,000

Full-time opportunity in Langley, British Columbia at Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley

Schedule: 3 to 4 shifts of 8 to 10 hours per week; one weekend shift per month required; rotating schedule including some statutory holidays

As a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician at Animal Emergency Clinic of Fraser Valley (AECFV), you'll provide exceptional patient care while serving as a mentor and resource for your fellow Veterinary Technicians in one of the largest and busiest standalone emergency hospitals in Western Canada.
