Job Summary

The Lead Radiology Technologist is a competent professional capable of performing duties independently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment. The individual must be able to step into a supervisory role when necessary. They should be skilled in operating various types of equipment to ensure timely, competent, and efficient patient care. The technologist will work collaboratively within a team, potentially training graduate and student technologists, and interact extensively with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors. Responsibilities include managing all patient populations, including infants, children, adults, and geriatrics. The Lead XR Technologist will oversee daily workflow, staffing, and scheduling in the absence of the supervisor, and assist in other areas during low-volume periods.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure safety protocols are followed by self and others.
  • Respond to coaching and feedback, demonstrating continuous improvement in skills and competencies.
  • Exercise sound judgment and critical thinking in various situations.
  • Attend or review via HealthStream at least three Town Hall meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as directed, including assisting in other areas during low workload periods.

  • Maintain radiation safety knowledge.
  • Understand equipment usage thoroughly.
  • Ensure proper patient identification.
  • Practice consistent hand hygiene.
Preferred Qualifications
Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: At least 3 years in healthcare; radiology experience preferred.

Required Licenses: Ohio Radiologic Technologist license, certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, valid Ohio Radiographer license, and BLS CPR certification.

Required Skills: Professional tactfulness, leadership abilities, staff utilization, delegation, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
