Job summary

Aversan Inc. in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to oversee the design, development, and implementation of a VCS product line.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science.
  • Minimum of 8 years engineering experience in an aerospace/defense or related environment and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ project engineering experience including project planning, change management, earned value reporting, and experience with computer-based scheduling and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with the software development process and DO-178B is an asset.
  • Environmental Control Systems knowledge is a strong asset.
  • Experience and/or recognition in affective closure of technical and program issues.
  • Discipline in defining and meeting customer & project requirements/objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, strategic planning in a team environment.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills.
  • Excels in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Tenacity in meeting project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Overall technical coordination of design and development activities within the engineering functions to ensure that all requirements are addressed.
  • Establish and maintain detailed technical plans, estimates, and schedules.
  • Management of the program plan including scope, schedule, cost, technical, resource, and risk management.
  • Manage the product definition process from requirements definition through design, development, validation & verification, and introduction to production.
  • Program tracking and reporting using Project scheduling, reporting, and financial management tools as appropriate.
  • Focal point with all internal departments and potential customer interface.
  • The leadership of customer design reviews, technical co-ordination meetings, and engineering reviews with support from appropriate functional groups as required.
  • Support change management including scope, schedule, cost, technical, resource, and risk assessment as well as program change requests.

We are currently seeking a qualified Lead Project Engineer to join our team. The Lead Project Engineer will oversee the design, development, and implementation of a VCS product line, coordinating cross-functional engineering teams to deliver technical solutions that meet performance requirements, as well as schedule, cost, and quality objectives, while providing technical authority for assigned program(s).

Compensation: $120,000- $140,000 CAD

The base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications. This ensures compensation is fair and aligned with the specific requirements and attributes of each candidate.
