Job summary

Apotex is seeking an experienced Production Mechanical Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair stationary industrial machinery in a GMP environment. You will lead and coach junior technicians, ensuring safe and efficient operation of pumps, motors, and control systems.

You will install and align equipment, read blueprints, and comply with CGMP, SOPs, and safety standards. Strong teamwork and problem-solving are essential for this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of mechanics and machine shop practices.
• Knowledge of Electrical, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
• Knowledge of GMP, as related to pharmaceuticals.
• Knowledge of Quick Change Over Techniques and PLC would be an asset.
• Able to lead, collaborate with others.
• Able to train and pass on knowledge to junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on industrial machinery, including production equipment, pumps, motors, and VFDs.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize production downtime.
• Install, align, dismantle and move stationary machinery using hand and power tools.
• Adhere to CGMP, SOPs and safety standards; follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Mentor junior technicians and train production teams on equipment safety.
• Read blueprints and diagrams to determine work procedures.
