Job summary

GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH) seeks a Lead Piping Analysis Engineer in Markham, ON to perform piping and pipe-support analyses for nuclear safety applications. The role involves developing methods, supporting procurement, and representing GVH in industry forums.

Qualifications

  • Nuclear industry knowledge or experience preferred.
  • Experience with ASME Section III and ASME B31.1 codes is desirable.
  • Proficiency with pipe and pipe support analysis tools Hexagon PIPESTRESS and GT STRUDL.
  • Finite element modelling and dynamic analysis experience required.
  • Engineer In Training certification or pursuit of PE/PEng license desired.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities essential.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to create automation scripts (Python).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

Job Description Summary
The Lead Piping Analysis Engineer will work within the Piping Analysis team of GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH). The Piping Analysis team is responsible for performing analysis of nuclear safety related piping and piping supports to show code and regulatory compliance. The group services the new plants projects organization primarily focused on the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor. The Piping Analysis team has strong interfaces with the Systems Design, Civil Structural Design, Reactor Design, and Integrated Plants Design teams.
Job Description

You will be requested to:

  • Utilize knowledge and experience to solve and deliver outcomes to customers
  • Work cooperatively throughout GVH to develop approaches for solving technical issues. Communicate potential solutions and work status effectively to the organization
  • Support procurement and subcontract activities associated with new plant projects
  • Represent GVH at industry forums such as ASME meetings and BWROG conferences
  • Maintain and develop technical design procedures associated with piping and pipe support analysis activities.
  • Maintain, and facilitate the use of analysis software
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (Other Engineering Disciplines may be acceptable based on work experience) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3 years Nuclear (or closely related) Industry Experience
Eligibility Requirements
For the US
  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters Wilmington, NC
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons(i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.
For Canada
  • For Canada GE Vernova will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
  • This position will report onsite to the Markham, ON office 3 days a week.

The base pay range for this position is$85,000 - $135,000 CAD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety offactors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for a10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
