Job summary

Primary Care Alberta seeks an Assistant Head Nurse to lead nursing staff and oversee daily operations across multiple clinic sites. You will assign staff, manage patient flow, provide clinical mentorship, and promote safe, quality, family-centered care.

The role emphasizes leadership in primary care settings, development of clinical staff, and participation in quality improvement initiatives within a multi-site Family Medicine program.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is required and Registered with CRNA in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience and comprehensive clinical expertise in Primary Care is required.
• Experience in leadership and staff clinical development.

Responsibilities

• Staff assignments and patient flow management.
• On-site clinical leadership, mentoring for MOAs, RNs, and LPNs.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and operational priorities.
• Support Connect Care workflows and clinic operations.
