Job summary

Northern Health is seeking an experienced Primary Care Assistant to support the interprofessional team in delivering safe, efficient primary care services across clinics and community settings. The role emphasizes operational and administrative support under supervision to ensure high-quality care.

The position requires strong organizational, communication, and technical skills, including medical terminology and proficiency with standard office software and clinical information systems.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12.
  • Office Assistant Course from an accredited Community College plus two years recent, related experience in a health care setting.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support Primary Care providers and the Interprofessional Team (IPT) in delivering safe, efficient, and quality primary care services.
  • Provide operational and administrative support in clinic and/or community settings in accordance with NH policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to overall team effectiveness and patient safety practices.
