Job summary

Shared Health in Brandon, MB is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to supervise a lab section and provide technical guidance. The role involves potential R&D, teaching, QA and safety duties, while maintaining safety and QA standards in accordance with accreditation.

The incumbent will lead with strong communication, analytical thinking, and leadership abilities, in a full-time, in-person position during days, with a 7.75-hour shift and 1.0 FTE.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
• Windows computer environment required.
• Microsoft Office programs required.
• Workplace Health and Safety training preferred.
• Apply technical knowledge to interpretation of results and troubleshooting.
• Organize and prioritize bench duties with Senior Technologist duties.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient analytical skills.
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted.
• Fluent in French and English may be required.
• Ability to perform duties as described.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical assistance to a lab section.
• Oversee programs such as Research and Development, Teaching, Quality Control and Safety as needed.
• Maintain a safe lab environment and ensure QA compliance with accrediting standards.
