Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and optimize automated conveyor systems for industrial projects in Laval, Quebec. The role includes providing technical support to resolve mechanical issues and improve equipment performance.

You will design systems, select components, and collaborate with automation, manufacturing, and installation teams while supporting commissioning and after-sales service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Member of the OIQ or in the process of becoming one.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial equipment design.
• Experience in conveyors, automation, or material handling is a significant asset.
• Proficiency in 3D design software (Inventor or equivalent).
• Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design automated conveyor systems and produce 2D/3D technical drawings.
• Select mechanical components and ensure equipment compliance.
• Collaborate with automation, manufacturing, and installation teams.
• Support commissioning and after-sales service.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and propose solutions for continuous improvement.
• Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and budgets.
