Job summary

Dawson Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent, Maintenance Asphalt & Crushing to oversee daily operations and maintenance of the facility and equipment based in Knutsford, BC, with travel across the province.

The role reports to the Manager, Equipment & Assets and requires a strong background in asphalt plant and crushing equipment, safety leadership, and the ability to manage maintenance programs, budgets, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in a supervisory/leadership role in asphalt, crushing, paving, or related discipline
• Strong equipment maintenance background and reliability-centered maintenance knowledge
• Clean Driver's Abstract required
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
• Experience with Heavy Job/E360
• Experience with Netsuite an asset

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the asphalt plant and crushing equipment
• Drive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety policies and codes
• Manage maintenance standards, schedules and budgets with the Manager, Equipment & Assets
• Coordinate training sessions and supervise sub-contractors
• Review project plans/specifications and ensure milestones are met
• Improve equipment reliability, production quality, and crew performance
• Ensure work meets approved specifications
