Overview

We’re seeking 2x Technical Leads / Solutions Architects to provide hands-on leadership across a multi-year transformation program. These roles blend technical depth with architectural oversight, particularly in retail banking systems, vendor product integration, and cloud-native solutions. You’ll set direction on APIs, microservices, and mainframe integrations while guiding teams through complex vendor and internal technology landscapes.

Seniority: Senior-level (Tech Lead / Solutions Architect)

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite Bloor/Jarvis

Start Date: 2-3 weeks

Duration: 1+ year program

Employment Type: Contract

Rate: $80-90p/h

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across a multi-year transformation program.
• Blend technical depth with architectural oversight, particularly in retail banking systems, vendor product integration, and cloud-native solutions.
• Set direction on APIs, microservices, and mainframe integrations while guiding teams through complex vendor and internal technology landscapes.
• Engage in full stack engineering with Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, TypeScript, and React; design, code, unit test, and integrate new features.
• Demonstrate SME-level knowledge of retail banking systems and their design implications.
• Develop and integrate APIs, vendor systems, and microservices; manage mainframe connectivity.
• Plan and implement packaged product integration approaches.
• Hands-on work with Azure / AKS, RESTful services, and SQL.
• Proficient with GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Snyk, and SonarQube.
• Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring developers.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe frameworks; use Jira and Confluence for tracking and collaboration.
• Bridge business and technical stakeholders effectively.
• Deep background in retail banking systems (underwriting, deposits, payments, etc.).
• Experience working across complex vendor and internal tech environments.
• Experience driving automated testing strategies and production release support.

Qualifications
