WSG Energy Services is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Commissioning Leader to drive commissioning, startup, and turnover for major projects in Alberta. You will direct field teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure safe, compliant start-up of complex systems across LNG and petrochemical facilities.

The role requires a strong background in instrumentation, DCS/PLC/SIS/ESD, and proven leadership of multidiscipline teams through turnover to operations.

Qualifications

• Instrumentation Journeyperson Certification or technical diploma is required.
• Minimum 10 years in instrumentation commissioning/startup in LNG/oil & gas or related sectors.
• Minimum 5 years in superintendent/lead/supervisory commissioning role.
• Strong knowledge of field instrumentation, DCS, PLC, SIS, ESD, and Fire & Gas.
• Proven experience leading multidiscipline commissioning teams through projects.

Responsabilités

• Lead all instrumentation commissioning, pre-commissioning, and startup activities across assigned systems.
• Develop commissioning strategies, work packages, procedures, schedules, and startup plans.
• Manage commissioning personnel, subcontractors, and vendor representatives.
• Coordinate Instrument CSU activities to achieve milestones.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to commissioning team members.
• Oversee instrument calibration, loop checks, functional testing, and system verification.
• Support FATs, SATs, vendor inspections, and performance testing.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and commissioning issues impacting project execution.
• Lead construction walkdowns, punch list management, and deficiency resolution.
• Coordinate turnover package reviews and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
• Participate in PSSR, ITP, and system handover activities.
• Coordinate activities between Construction, Engineering, Operations, and Commissioning teams.
