Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Canada.
• 17+ years of electrical engineering design experience in heavy industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and act as the senior technical SME for instrumentation and control systems in mining and heavy industry.
• Oversee control philosophy, system architecture, and functional specifications for complex process systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Our teams deliver engineering and project execution excellence across the full project lifecycle—from conceptual studies and detailed design to commissioning, optimization, and beyond.

The Opportunity

Based in one of our Ontario offices—ideally Northern Ontario, Greater Toronto Area, or Saskatoon—as a Lead I&C Engineer, you will serve as a senior subject‑matter expert in instrumentation and controls engineering for both new construction and brownfield mining, metals and other heavy industrial projects. Your work will influence project outcomes from concept through completion, helping clients operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• At least 18+ years of electrical engineering design experience supporting heavy industrial facilities
• Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Canada
• Extensive experience leading and delivering instrumentation and controls engineering within mining or heavy industrial sectors
• Strong expertise in PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and process automation platforms
• Proven ability to develop control narratives, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and I/O lists
• Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support in industrial environments
• Strong understanding of safety systems, hazardous area classification, and applicable codes and standards
• Ability to lead complex projects, mentor junior staff, and maintain high technical excellence

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 - $179,100

MB & ON: $123,300 - $169,800

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $122,100 - $162,200
