Job summary

BA Blacktop Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician to join our team in Port Kells, Surrey, BC.

The successful candidate will perform repairs and preventive maintenance on a variety of road construction equipment, using troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues. The role requires Journeyperson HET certification (Red Seal a plus), 3+ years in a similar field, a valid license, and the ability to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification is required.
• 3+ years in repair or maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose faults using testing equipment and determine repair extent.
• Maintain safety policies and communicate progress to shop foreman.
• Adapt to new technologies and verify repairs with proper documentation.
• Work independently or in a team, including field service when needed.
