Job summary

Clean Harbors in Breslau, ON is seeking a Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy diesel equipment at our facility. The role focuses on safety compliance, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a 310T license, 5+ years in heavy-duty maintenance, and proven leadership abilities to mentor apprentices and coordinate a team of mechanics.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mechanic Certification (310T license).
  • 5+ years' experience maintaining heavy-duty units such as pickup trucks, tractors, and trailers.
  • Familiarity with diesel engines and vehicle systems.
  • Ability to lead in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and enforce safe work practices.
  • Manage maintenance workshop safety activities and update safety boards.
  • Assign work to mechanics and monitor Repair Orders.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair light & heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for reliability and performance.
  • Maintain warranty and maintenance documentation.
  • Disassemble/inspect/replace worn components; mentor apprentices.

Clean Harbors in Breslau, ON location is currently looking for a Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining / repairing heavy diesel equipment within the facility.

Responsibilities


  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.

  • Actively manages safety within Maintenance workshop and completes required safety activities such as monthly inspections, updates safety boards, conduct daily toolbox talks, etc as per company safety policy;

  • Assign work to other mechanics and update the status of the Repair Orders

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on light & heavy-duty vehicles and various types of equipment.

  • Conduct routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.

  • Complete and maintain warranty and maintenance documentation.

  • Disassemble, inspect, and replace worn, damaged, or defective components as required.

  • Mentor Apprentice's as required.

  • Conduct Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws.

  • Respond to internal customer service calls and discuss maintenance and repair decisions with internal customer, inventory, and asset management as required. All updates submitted in a timely manner.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping activities.


Qualifications


  • Licensed Mechanic Certification (310T license)

  • 5 + years' experience in maintaining of one or more of the following units: pickup trucks, tractors, and trailers;

  • Familiarity with the various types of diesel engines;

  • Ability to lead in a team environment.

  • Must be versed in all aspects e.g. electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines etc.

  • Ability or get or have DriveOn.

  • Valid full drivers license

  • Experience with CVIP Inspections,.
