Shared Health is seeking a supervisory professional to oversee patient transport operations in a hospital setting. The role is in-person in Manitoba, with 0.40 FTE and 7.75 daily hours, supporting the efficient movement of patients and resources.

The successful candidate will bring at least three years of supervisory experience, and preferably prior Patient Transport Assistant work within a hospital environment. CPR/first aid and on-the-job Cushman Cart Training are preferred.

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Experience

• Minimum three years’ experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a hospital environment required.


• Minimum of one-year experience as Patient Transport Assistant within a hospital environment preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards required.


• Completion of recognized course in management or supervision an asset.

SPECIAL TRAINING:

• Basic computer skills required.


• Family and Friends CPR training preferred.


• Must successfully complete on the job Cushman Cart Training within three months.

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity required.


• Periods of continuous walking and standing.


• Lifting, turning and transferring of patients (some in excess of 270 kgs) required.


• Considerable bending, pushing, pulling and lifting required in the transport of equipment (10-270 kgs) within the Centre.


• Must be able to adjust to unforeseen circumstances and/or fast-paced situations.


• May be exposed to infectious diseases and occasional adverse weather conditions.


• Compliance with workplace safety precautions required.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
