Job summary

Eden Valley Poultry is seeking a Lead Hand for Pack 2 to assist in coordinating packaging operations and to maximize productivity while upholding health, safety, and quality standards.

You will report to the Department Supervisor and guide staff, perform equipment checks, and contribute to HACCP documentation. Strong leadership and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced poultry production setting.

Qualifications

• Must have production/sanitation experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

There is a requirement for a Lead Hand for Pack 2

The Lead Handassists the Packaging Supervisor(s) to ensure that the resources and product required are available to complete specific jobs or tasks. The Lead Hand is responsible for assisting in the coordination of work to maximize productivity and efficiency, while adhering to health and safety, food safety and organizational standards.The Lead Hand will report directly to the Department Supervisor.

Job Duties:

• Understand each process and undertaking of department.
• Communicate and monitor output.
• Assist all employees, provide direction and guidance and assign work.
• Be familiar with and have the ability to operate and perform equipment checks, when required.
• Be able to perform checks on equipment and fill out HACCP forms as required.
• Respond when needed to maximize production.
• Work in job rotation as required.
• Assist in maintaining audit requirements.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform all work to organizational standards to ensure final product meets quality standards.
• Determine and report product and equipment malfunctions to the appropriate authority.
• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure productivity and efficiency, reporting any issues to the applicable Supervisor.
• Participate in educational and training opportunities applicable to the position.

Requirements:

• Previous Eden Valley Poultry production/sanitation experience.
• Strong leadership skills. Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate various types of machinery.
• Ability to communicate logically ordered objectives. Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work as a team.
