Job summary

OpenText is seeking a Lead FinOps Specialist to maximize the value of cloud investments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will partner with Development, Finance, and leadership to drive smarter decisions, forecast accurately, and govern multi-cloud spend.

This senior role combines financial acumen with technical insight to turn cloud usage into strategic advantage. You will lead enterprise-wide initiatives, drive cost controls, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mature FinOps practices

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in cloud financial management for Senior level, or 12–15+ years for Principal.
• Hands-on multi-cloud spend management across AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
• Proven ability to influence Developing, Finance and Procurement teams.
• Deep understanding of cloud billing constructs and optimization levers.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide cloud cost optimization initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Drive rightsizing, storage optimization, and commitment strategies.
• Build and maintain cloud spend forecasts and variance analyses.
• Partner with FP&A to align cloud spend with financial plans.
• Design and implement cost allocation models and governance frameworks.
• Deliver dashboards, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to leadership.

What The Role Offers

• Cloud cost optimization: Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency
• Cost‑reduction execution: Drive rightsizing, storage optimization, and commitment strategies
• Forecasting & budgeting: Build and maintain cloud spend forecasts and variance analysis
• Financial alignment: Partner with FP&A to tie cloud spend to financial plans
• Cost anomaly detection: Implement proactive controls and alerts
• Cost allocation models: Design and operationalize showback/chargeback frameworks
• Tagging governance: Establish and enforce tagging standards
• FinOps governance: Define policies, guardrails, and KPI-driven processes
• Cross-functional partnership: Embed cost-aware practices across developing and product teams
• Executive insights: Deliver dashboards, KPIs, and strategic recommendations

What You Need To Succeed

• FinOps experience: 8–12+ years (Senior) or 12–15+ years (Principal) in cloud financial management
• Multi-cloud expertise: Hands-on experience managing spend across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
• Cross-functional leadership: Ability to influence Developing, Finance, and Procurement
• Cloud pricing knowledge: Deep understanding of billing constructs and optimization levers
• Financial modeling: Strong forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities
• FinOps tooling: Experience with cloud cost management platforms
• Data skills: Advanced Excel, SQL, and/or BI tools
• Executive communication: Ability to translate cloud consumption into business insights
• Change leadership: Proven ability to drive adoption of new processes
• Strategic thinking: Ability to shape long-term FinOps strategy and maturity

Salary Range: $86,800 - $130,200 Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
