Job summary

Baker Hughes invites recent graduates to join an Early Career Program as a Field Engineer in Canada. The 36-month program connects on-site teams with clients to install, maintain, and start equipment while delivering high-quality service.

You will gain practical experience and leadership opportunities through real-world field assignments. Eligibility includes a degree in Engineering (any field) within the last year, up to one year post-degree experience, and residency/authorization to work in

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams.
  • Leadership, critical thinking, numerical skills and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with crew members to deploy tools and services with customers and shore-based managers.
  • Help solve complex technical problems through hands-on work at the worksite.
  • Prepare and receive equipment and products to and from the worksite.
  • Support tenders with data analysis and cost estimates; assist invoicing activities.
  • Participate in job shadowing to learn the business end-to-end.

Our Early Career Program for Field Engineers inspires and guides recent graduates through career-shaping experiences. This program takes approximately 36 months to complete and gets you involved in helping clients locate and produce energy more efficiently. Program graduates have the foundations to make innovative significant contributions to our future.

As a Field Engineer, you will be the key interface between our on-site teams and the client. You will work technically and professionally, may have the opportunity to lead crews to ensure that equipment is installed, maintained, and started properly and that jobsite services exceed customer expectations. By making innovative key contributions to our future, you will also help create reliable, high-quality support for our customers. As part of our Early Career

Program as a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating with crew members to deploy tools and services, including liaison with customers and shore-based Operations Managers.

  • Participating in finding solutions to complex technical problems through hands-on work at theworksite

  • Preparing, documenting, and receiving outbound and inbound equipment and products, including products to and from the worksite

  • Providing support for tenders, including data analysis and cost estimates, as well as performing invoicing activities

  • Engaging in job shadowing opportunities to develop a holistic understanding of the business

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have graduated with aBachelor's degree in Engineering(all fields), Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geosciences, or similar, within the last12months.

  • Have a maximum of one year work experience post-degree

  • Have achieved a minimumcumulative GPA of3.0on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent)

  • Be fluent in written and spoken English, with excellent communicationskills

  • Have good interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for teamwork and the ability to guide others.

  • Demonstrate good leadership, critical thinking, and numerical skills as well as data analysis and project management abilities.

  • Applicants mustresidein Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada Full-Time. Baker Hughesis NOT able toprovide (or take over) sponsorship for immigration or work visas for this position.

  • Some international travel to the United States or other countries may berequiredfor training and orientation (may include 8-12 consecutive weeks of training). The ability to obtain work authorization for countries outside of Canadawillberequired. Inability to obtain work authorizationfor international travelmaypreclude your ability toparticipatein early career programs.

  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license (for a minimum of 2 years) or equivalent out of province license and excellent driving record.
