Job summary

Steamoji is looking for a Lead Facilitator to run sessions, set the energy, guide apprentices through missions, and mentor fellow facilitators. This leadership role requires consistency and hands-on management of classes.

Qualifications

• Solid working knowledge of coding, robotics, engineering and 3D design.
• Experience working with kids: teaching, camp counselling, tutoring, coaching, volunteering, or mentorship all count.
• Some experience leading or facilitating a group, even informally.
• The ability to hold a room of ten-year-olds and have a credible conversation with their parents.
• Reliability. You'll be scheduled consistently and expected to be there, session after session.
• Patience, energy, and genuine enthusiasm for this stuff.

• Connect with leads and support families when they have questions; handle day-to-day academy operations — attendance, prep, organizing materials.

Who we are

Steamoji is a maker academy for kids ages 5–15. We're not a tutoring centre and we're not a daycare with LEGO. Our apprentices work through real challenges in engineering, coding, robotics, fabrication, science, and digital arts — designing, testing, breaking, and rebuilding their own solutions.

The technical skills are the hook. What we're really building is critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and the kind of stubbornness that makes someone try the fifth prototype after four failures.

The role

We're looking for a Lead Facilitator — someone who can run a room, not just supervise one.

You'll own the session from start to finish: setting the tone, guiding apprentices through their missions, and making sure everyone leaves having built something they're proud of. You'll also mentor our facilitators and facilitators‑in‑training, which means your impact extends well past the kids in front of you.

This is a leadership role, and it comes with a real commitment. Our apprentices and our team count on the same person being there day after day — showing up on time, prepped, and ready to run the room. This is also a great first role out of school. If you've just finished a degree or diploma in engineering, computer science, education, design, or anything adjacent, you'll get leadership experience here far earlier than most entry‑level jobs would give you.

The details

Job type: Part‑time, up to 20 hours per week Location: Mississauga, ON (on‑site)

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday: 3:00 – 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Sunday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Shifts are assigned on a consistent weekly schedule. We're looking for someone who can commit to those shifts reliably — our families plan around them.
