Job summary

Leading Edge Electric Inc. in Canada is seeking the Leading Edge Estimator to own our estimating process end-to-end. You will manage data, software tools, and AI-enabled workflows to deliver sharper numbers and better bids, while staying with projects through completion.

You’ll lead a team, challenge peers, and push for better solutions beyond the drawings, ensuring risks are identified early and communicated to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating and cost analysis.
• Ability to own the estimating process from data to final numbers.
• Comfort with raising the bar and improving workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the estimation process and data systems from start to finish.
• Lead and develop the team on estimating projects.
• Compare estimates to actuals to sharpen future bids.
• Identify risks early and communicate them clearly.

I'm not hiring an estimator. I'm hiring the Leading Edge Estimator.

In 2008 I started Leading Edge Electric as one guy in a van. We've grown by doing commercial tenant and landlord improvements the right way. Our next step needs a leader who owns how we estimate and raises the bar for everyone around them.

The Leading Edge Estimator:

• Puts the customer first and loves working with them to find the best solution
• Doesn't settle for what's on the drawings
• Never says "that's what the software says"
• Identifies risk and communicates it early
• Is always learning, testing new tools and experimenting with AI
• Believes there's a better way, and goes looking for it
• Gets it done

You won't be handed someone else's system. You own it.

The process, the tools and the database are yours. If there's better software, a better workflow or a better way to use AI, you make the call and build it. You'll stay on jobs through completion, compare estimate vs actuals, and make our numbers sharper with real data.

You'll lead.

You'll challenge the people around you, hold them accountable, and develop the ones coming up behind you.

Year one success:

our estimates are built on our own job data, customers trust our number, and the team is better because you're here.

You've walked the walk:

Strong TI experience, and you can estimate on a napkin or in software. You can see the finished product before you start.
