Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Project Manager – Liability Management to oversee and advance key environmental programs in the upstream oil and gas sector across northeast British Columbia and Alberta. Manage complex projects, mentor staff, and collaborate with industry leaders.

You will lead project execution and client engagement, supporting junior staff and driving remediation, reclamation, compliance, and closure across a dynamic portfolio in NE BC projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in environmental science, biology, or related field.
• Professional designation for sign-off in British Columbia (Alberta/Saskatchewan an asset).
• 8+ years of environmental experience with Phase 1/Phase 2 program execution.
• Site remediation and complex contamination management experience.
• Groundwater monitoring and reclamation planning for wellsites, facilities, and disturbances.
• Schedule B Site Reclamation Assessments, Reclamation Inspections and/or Detailed Site Assessments.
• Certificate of Restoration applications and/or Reclamation certificate applications.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Personnel Management: mentor junior staff and manage scheduling.
• Project/Program Management: oversee client relationships, performance, and budgets.
• Technical Requirements: stay current with regulations and provide risk-informed solutions.
