LEAD ENVIRONMENT ARTIST
Reports to: Assistant Art Director
Permanent – Full-Time
What you will do
- Take charge of the environment of a game level. Work in an editor with your team.
- Provide artistic and technical support for architectural levels.
- Plan and allocate tasks for the Level Art team, considering established timelines and constraints.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Art Director to understand and communicate the artistic direction.
- Solve artistic problems to improve workflows.
- Coordinate effectively with design and technical teams.
- Find innovative technical and visual solutions.
- Assist in scoping and planning maps and milestones.
- Document processes and procedures in detail.
- Push boundaries of systematic and artistic limitations.
- Communicate effectively with project managers.
- Participate in annual performance evaluations.
What you bring
- Degree in 2D/3D art or equivalent training.
- Over 8 years of experience as a 3D/environment artist, including at least 1 year as a lead.
- Experience with at least 2 published titles, including 1 AAA, preferably on new-generation consoles.
- Proficiency in creating objects/environments using 3D software and 2D art applications.
- Knowledge of game production processes.
- Understanding of engine and platform constraints.
- Proficiency in Maya/Blender and Photoshop.
