Job summary

Advantage Group International is seeking a Security Engineer to join our Technology team in Toronto. This role will build and shape our security posture from the ground up, acting as a hands-on leader who designs, implements, and manages a robust security infrastructure.

You’ll drive the security roadmap, embed a security-first culture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and resilience across systems and vendors.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field or equivalent information security experience.
• Minimum 8 years of security operations or systems administration experience.
• Proactive ownership mindset with passion for protecting systems and data.
• Willingness to learn, adapt and optimize security operations.

Responsibilities

• Establish foundations of the security practice and design enterprise security systems across infra and apps.
• Lead vulnerability triage, verification, and remediation with SLAs.
• Conduct internal and client security assessments and coordinate risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage incident response and forensic investigations with precision and urgency.
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.
• Ensure SOC2, ISO 27001 and related frameworks compliance.
