Job summary

Fluor Corp in Vancouver seeks a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to provide technical leadership on a major industrial project. You will oversee electrical engineering deliverables from design through construction, commissioning, and handover while coordinating with consultants, vendors and multidisciplinary stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a P.Eng. or eligibility, 12+ years of experience, and proven ability to lead diverse teams on mining

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, energy, or major capital projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing consultants.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of electrical engineering work packages.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering teams and consultants.
• Manage engineering consultants, deliverables, design reviews, and schedules.
• Review and approve electrical designs, specifications, calculations, studies, and technical reports.
• Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor management.
• Lead electrical power distribution and infrastructure design activities.
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Facilitate design reviews, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering workshops.
• Support construction, commissioning, startup, and project handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Work Arrangement & Travel Requirements

• Vancouver office-based role.
• Occasional travel to project sites will be required to support construction and package delivery activities.
• Future site rotation opportunities may be available during project execution phases.
