The electrical group is a dynamic team combining engineering, design, and leadership skills to effectively support our clients. Success requires a solid education in engineering and strong personal competencies. Being a team player and interacting effectively with client organizations, other disciplines, vendors, and contractors is essential.

The Electrical Design team handles electrical design development for projects in the mineral processing industry. This supervisory role on a large-scale mining & metals project requires significant demonstrated experience as a project lead on similar large projects.

Day-to-day duties include:
  1. Supervising and guiding project designers
  2. Monitoring and supporting work performed by Fluor offices or other entities performing Distributed Execution Engineering
  3. Assigning work to teams, monitoring, and managing deliverables
  4. Developing cost-effective project solutions for discipline design work
  5. Developing and reviewing project scope, facilities scope, and baseline documents
  6. Estimating, scheduling, staffing, and providing progress reports and manpower forecasts
  7. Tracking material quantities and providing analysis and forecasts
  8. Building external relationships with client representatives and collaborating with other disciplines to promote client service excellence
  9. Participating in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities
  10. Developing and reviewing specifications and design criteria
  11. Updating job execution plans
  12. Reviewing 2D CAD drawings and 3D models using review platforms
  13. Reviewing vendor equipment documentation for compliance and resolving discrepancies
  14. Reviewing layouts and schematics for conceptual and detailed designs
  15. Reviewing fabricator drawings and material take-off analyses
  16. Performing audits and overseeing them
  17. Preparing and reviewing scopes of work for third-party contracts
  18. Supporting proposal and estimate activities
  19. Delivering quality work and adhering to Operating System Requirements
  20. Executing project work according to activity plans
  21. Following industry codes, standards, and department procedures
  22. Participating in personnel development through mentoring and training
  23. Performing other duties as assigned
