Position Overview

We are seeking a Chief Power Engineer responsible for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing boilers, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a focus on steam, boiler, and hot water units. The role includes team management, providing direction, training, and support to building operators and maintenance staff.

Salary Range

$40/hr - $45/hr

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain mechanical, electrical, and craft services ensuring operational efficiency and environmental standards.
  2. Develop operating procedures and testing schedules for critical systems.
  3. Assess equipment performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  4. Oversee commissioning of new plant elements and train staff during pre-construction and construction phases.
  5. Monitor hospital critical systems, review logs, prioritize tasks, and conduct team meetings.
  6. Evaluate team performance and ensure safety and operational standards are met.
Skills and Qualifications
  1. Expertise in steam, boiler, and hot water systems.
  2. TSBC 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification or equivalent (TSSA).
  3. At least 5 years of general building maintenance experience; hospital experience is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and use of CMMS, BAS, and MS Office.
  5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
