Job summary

Dumas Contracting Inc. is seeking a Lead Development Miner/Jumbo Operator to drive underground development safely and efficiently. You will lead a crew, operate a Jumbo drill, and advance headings in accordance with the mine plan while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The role requires 3+ years of Jumbo experience, strong leadership, and a proven safety record. The position features 12-hour shifts on a 14/14 rotation, with competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a Jumbo drill in underground development mining.
• Ability to cycle a full round and interpret drilling patterns accurately.
• Proven experience leading a development crew.
• Outstanding safety record and strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate Jumbo drill to cycle full rounds according to the mining plan, following geology control for minimal dilution.
• Lead a development crew to achieve safe and productive results.
• Construct and maintain underground installations as the face advances.
• Organize muck removal and maintain clean, safe work areas
• Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting all issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet all targets.
• Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
