Iris Software Inc. is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for our Fortune 100 direct client in Canada.

You will bring 5–8 years of hands-on data engineering experience, strong SQL and Python skills, and a deep understanding of insurance data, reporting, and business processes. You will design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Snowflake, develop dbt models, optimize stored procedures, and orchestrate workflows with Airflow.

Qualificações

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer with SQL and Python.
• Experience in the Insurance domain, with insurance data, reporting and business processes.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Snowflake.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for enterprise data integration and analytics.

Position: Lead Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• 5-8 years of hands‑on experience as a Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL and Python for data processing, transformation, and analytics.
• Mandatory experience working in the Insurance domain, with a solid understanding of insurance data, reporting, and business processes.
• Extensive experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Snowflake, including data ingestion, transformation, and optimization.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to support enterprise-wide data integration and analytics initiatives.
• Strong experience in developing and optimizing Stored Procedures, Tasks, and dbt models for efficient data transformation workflows.
• Expertise in data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, and implementing scalable data architecture solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or equivalent platforms for scheduling and monitoring data pipelines.
• Build and support high-performance, reliable, and secure data solutions that meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Perform data quality validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage technical teams and business stakeholders across large-scale programs.
