Job summary

ProSlide Technology Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, implement, and commission safety-critical control systems for diverse projects.

You will lead controls development, ensure regulatory compliance, and validate systems through FAT/SAT and on-site commissioning. The role requires PLC/HMI programming expertise (Rockwell and Siemens), risk assessment and robust safety measures, plus strong communication and teamwork in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years in control systems engineering in public-facing safety-critical environments.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Rockwell and Siemens) and network protocols.
• Knowledge of safety standards and safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive controls improvement development projects by setting goals and reporting progress.
• Engineering lead on controls development projects through the Controls Development Process; choose NPI partner and drive to completion.
• Provide SME support on technical challenges, summarize actions and distribute tasks.
• Lead product NPI testing and validation at ProSlide’s R&D centre and project commissioning.
• Develop understanding and application of design codes and standards to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
