Job summary

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is seeking a provincial Clinical Supervisor located at Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton to support both Edmonton and Calgary Clinical Trials and Research Teams. The CS will lead day-to-day operations and supervise staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality laboratory support services for current and future clients.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program and current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologist of Alberta (CMLTA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical laboratory and a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project coordination, conflict resolution and change management skills.
  • Experience working in and supervising in a unionized setting with strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and provide leadership in staff management within the assigned program area.
  • Recruit, onboarding, training and development of staff, ensuring safety and standards.
  • Coach, evaluate, recognize and take corrective action; support investigations and disciplinary processes.
  • Collaborate with Laboratory Management to develop policy, plan operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance and coordinate resource needs through data analysis.
