Role Summary

This role is within Ontario Health’s new Provincial Emergency Services portfolio, focusing on effective delivery of emergency programs to improve access and quality of care in Ontario Emergency Departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engagement with clinical providers, health administrators, partners, and stakeholders to support emergency medicine initiatives.
  • Support alignment with broader health system strategies and performance measurement.
  • Lead advisory committees and external collaborations to enhance service delivery.
  • Engage with provincial bodies, the Ministry of Health, and experts to provide strategic guidance.
  • Offer clinical expertise in emergency care to inform program planning and evaluation.
  • Develop relationships to share best practices and address system challenges.
  • Create clinical pathways, tools, and resources for best practice care.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Demonstrate leadership and integrity in stakeholder interactions.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related discipline; a master's is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years in emergency department clinical and operational roles.
  • Expertise in emergency triage, with relevant credentials.
  • Membership in a regulated health professional college is an asset.
  • Leadership in national emergency services organizations is preferred.
  • Experience in health system strategy, planning, and project implementation.
  • Proven ability to develop guidance, reports, and evaluations.
  • Experience in complex clinical environments.
