Job summary

The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) in Ottawa, ON, is seeking a supervisor to lead a team of cleaners in a 12-storey office building. Under the Facilities Manager, you will instruct, coordinate, and monitor daily cleaning operations.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in large cleaning environments, 1–3 years in lead roles, and experience supervising unionized staff. Knowledge of WHMIS, MSDS, green cleaning practices, and strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in large commercial or office cleaning environments.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a lead hand or supervisory capacity.
• Experience supervising unionized staff and working within a collective agreement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of cleaners in the daily cleaning of a 12-storey office building.
• Instruct and participate in tasks; coordinate with Facilities Manager and staff.
• Maintain high standards, ensure a safe and professional workplace, and uphold union practices.
