Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive insurance adjusting experience.
• College/University degree preferred.
• Chartered Insurance Professional Designation and ongoing industry education (FCIP, etc.).
• Effective customer service skills with empathy.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
• Strong investigative and analytical skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent knowledge of policy wordings across all lines of business and corporate guidelines.
• Ability to coach, guide and motivate employees.
• Excellent knowledge of automobile, habitational, farm and commercial policies.
• Knowledge of medical and legal terminology.
• Detail oriented with high data accuracy.
• Exceptional advanced negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of claims team.
• Provide guidance and leadership to staff and specialists.
• Manage service levels by organizing, distributing, monitoring work flow and prioritizing tasks.
• Conduct or contribute to employee development and performance management.
• Review claims files and coach for continuous improvement.
• Provide direction in liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiations and reserves.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
