Job summary

Sony Pictures Imageworks Canada is seeking a CG Supervisor to lead artistic and technical VFX work under the VFX Supervisor, delivering shots on time and to the director's vision. You will define pipelines, mentor artists, and collaborate across technology, creative, and production teams to maximize efficiency and quality.

The role requires extensive production experience in high-end live action VFX, with a proven track record in staffing, tool development, and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CG Supervisor or Sequence Supervisor working on high end live action VFX work.
• Thorough understanding of the complete VFX pipeline.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Must be a skilled decision maker and able to solve problems.
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in optimizing workflows and ensuring results.
• Proven experience in interviewing candidates and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret the Director’s vision while ensuring artistic quality, content and continuity.
• Directs show leads and artists to provide technical leadership at facility and project level.
• Collaborate with technology, creative, and production to optimize processes.
• Lead development of flexible CG pipelines to meet creative briefs.
• Assist with show setup and resource determination.
• Communicate implementations and solutions between departments.
• Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to production and supervisors.
• Schedule, assign workload, and balance with show coordinator.
• Flag crewing needs and assist with recruitment.
• Foster a positive work environment and team morale.
