Job summary

Cronos Group Inc. in Stayner, Ontario is seeking a hands-on Product Development Manager who can balance leadership with technical execution.

You will oversee Derivative Flower, Pre-Roll, and Infused Pre-Roll programs, coordinating internal R&D with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain and external partners. The role requires strong product development expertise, at least 5 years of domain experience, and proven people leadership in a regulated CPG setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
• 5+ years product development/manufacturing in regulated CPGs.
• 4+ years direct people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Derivative Flower, Pre-Roll, Infused Pre-Roll development from concept to launch.
• Represent Product Development in commercialization and cross‑functional teams.
• Translate insights into development plans, tests, and technical recommendations.
• Develop new products, cost-savings, and quality improvements; support business cases.
• Manage technical inputs for costs, formulations, yields, and packaging decisions.
• Supervise scientists/technicians; ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Design/approve experiments, reports, specs, and development records.
• Optimize formulations, blending, infusion, coating, and packaging attributes.
• Define critical process parameters and QC attributes for manufacturing steps.
• Lead tech transfer and scale-up with Manufacturing and external partners.
• Support cross-border launches and local market adaptations.
• Approve specs for inputs, extracts, papers, cones, and packaging.
• Design stability studies and ensure regulatory/compliance alignment.
• Manage QMS activities: Change Controls, CAPAs, Deviations, and DMS docs.
• Maintain inventory traceability for cannabis materials and development lots.
• Be the technical contact for internal teams, CMOs, suppliers, and partners.
• Communicate project status, risks, and roadmap to leadership.
• Support capacity planning, budgets, timelines; coach the team.
